Avoca Museum and Historical Society is looking for Corporate and Small Business community sponsors for the 2023 year. Sponsorships allow Avoca to provide quality education, events and historic preservation in the Central Virginia region.

In 2023, Avoca desires to expand significantly its historic, educational, civic and private ventures in order to futher enrich the Central Virginia area. It is our duty as a cultural anchor to both provide high quality community events and preserve the significant Native American, American Revolutionary, Civil War, African American and Victorian history of this region. This year we have set the bar high for what we hope to achieve. We are preparing a significant number of new events to serve the community, preparing to begin restoring two outbuilding, which will be made into exhibits and break ground on a new and much needed storage building.

Events

The following events and more are possible due to sponsors: Derby Day, Mother's Day Tea, Friyay (Friday Cheers), Harvest Festival, Night at the Museum (Lantern Tours), Murder Mystery (Halloween), Christmas at Avoca, & more!

Education

Your support allows for the museum to host dozens of educational events annually. This includes K-12 and college field trips from all around Central Virginia - public, private and homeschool schools. We actively work with and have had interns from Liberty University, University of Lynchburg, Sweet Briar College, and Hollins University.

History

Sponsorship support allows for the museum to preserve thousands of local artifacts and documents, complete restoration work on the mansion and outbuildings, and promote new educational programing for all eras of Avoca history.

Preservation

Avoca Museum is built on 10 acres of history comprised of a Victorian Mansion, visitor center, three historic outbuildings, a Victorian garden and multi-acre arboretum. This requires significant upkeep. Your support allows the museum property and grounds to remain preserved for their beauty, educational and historic value.
